We know how important social support is for women living with HIV. In order to build a network of support across Victoria, we are currently recruiting Volunteer Peer Support Workers. A Volunteer Peer Support Worker provides support and information and acts as a listening friend to newly diagnosed women and other women living with HIV. The goal of the peer support worker program is to reduce women's isolation, encourage community engagement, improve overall health and well-being, and help empower and support women living with HIV to achieve their goals.
The next training session for new Volunteer Peer Support Workers will be in early 2017.
Volunteer Peer Support Workers must be Victorian-based women living with HIV. You can find a full description of the position here. For more information please email Positive Women's Peer Support Worker or phone 9863 8747.
