In The Family Theatre Production August 2006

Real stories about real women in our community living with HIV/AIDS

In Australia in 2006 many people still believe it's only gay men who are affected by HIV and AIDS. However, at Postive Women we know that anybody can be infected with the HIV virus. Men and women having unsafe sex with each other caused over 70% of all new infections among women today.

Written by Graham Pitts, In The Family is a collection of empowering and honest stories about real women and their families living with HIV/AIDS. Through the telling of these stories we seek to break down the many myths and stereo-types often associated with the virus and to expose you, the general public, to the realities and issues faced day to day by positive women living in your community.

Directed by Terence O'Connell and told by some of our leading performers including Robyn Arthur, Sally Cooper, Anne Phelan & Greg Stone, Sonya Suares, Alison Whyte & Anne Wood

In The Family is on the 2006 VCE Theatre Playlist
