Living with HIV/AIDS can be a challenging and isolating experience. There is much research to suggest that the provision of peer support, which includes talking about and the sharing of experiences can be beneficial for people’s emotional well being. Peer support is also shown to benefit the person giving the support, by way of learning a new skill, sharing experiences and being able to utilise social and people skills in caring for others.
